Where epic runes come from
The main source of epic runes is the Rune Ruins. One run costs one Ruins Shovel or 200 gems, and epics only come from the Shining chest.
The Promised Ruins (Promise Shovel or 300 gems) share the same grade rates as the Rune Ruins. The extra 100 gems buy targeting of a rune group, not better grades.
There is a pity guaranteeing one epic per 10 Shining chests, but epics usually appear from Shining chests before that, so the pity rarely triggers.
Collecting 128 from ruins alone
- One mythic = 128 epics. Filling that from ruin runs alone takes thousands of runs, which is not realistic.
- In practice, epic runes come from epic rune purchases in event shops and the Guild Expedition shop plus milestone rewards rather than ruins.
- Blessing runes only appear from rare grade and make up a small share. Blessing epics are the rarest, so count them separately in the calculator.

From Epic up, two of the same rune merge into the next grade — so making one Mythic takes 128 Epic runes.
